The Groveland Community Library (located at 173 Washington St. in Groveland) will host its semi-annual Used Book Sale today (Thursday) until 8 pm, Friday from 8 am - 5 pm and Saturday from 9 am - 1 pm. A wide variety of books appealing to readers of all ages will be available, including fiction, non-fiction and children's books: fill a bag with books for $3.50. All proceeds benefit Groveland Community Library, an independent library run entirely by volunteers. For more information, call the 309-387-2816.

The Fox on the Fairway continues tonight (Thursday) and runs through November 2nd with  additional performances on Friday, Saturday & Sunday at the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre in Goodfield. On Thursday, Friday & Saturday, doors open at 6 pm, buffet is at 6:30 pm, and the show is at 8 pm. On Sunday, doors & the buffet open at noon and the show is at 1:30 pm. The Speakeasy Art Center (located at 353 Court Street in Pekin) will host its Performance Poetry Open Mic Night tonight (Thursday) beginning at 7 pm. Area poets take the stage and perform or read their original work or share their favorite piece. Admission is free and door prizes will be awarded. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own snacks. The Bradley University Theatre Department will present Spring Awakening at the Hartmann Center for the Performing Arts tonight (Thursday) through Saturday beginning at 8 pm each night or at 2:30 pm on Sunday. Peoria Historical Society's River City Trolley Tour winds along Grandview Drive and will take place on Friday beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Harp & Thistle (located at 4605 N Prospect Road in Peoria Heights).  The Abraham Lincoln Trolley Tour will take place on Saturday beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub (located at 619 SW Water Street in downtown Peoria) and will take you through Springdale Cemetery to see the final resting place of Civil War veterans and by the GAR Hall, built in 1909 and hear the story of Joseph Greenhut, one of the Whiskey Barons who provided funding for the Hall.  The Haunted Peoria Tour is where you'll hear the stories behind the ghostly appearances that have startled and puzzled Peorians through the years which also takes place on Saturday beginning at 1 pm leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub.  Cost for each tour is $15 and seniors 65 and older ride the trolley free with proof of age and a regular ticket purchase. Beyond the Headlines: Haiti in Music will be presented by Bradley University at Dingeldine Music Center (located at 1417 W. Barker in Peoria) on Friday beginning at 7:30 pm. Admission is free. Crossing Borders Collective, a Chicago-based multi-cultural classical music ensemble will perform string quartets by Haitian composers. Also, excerpts of the new documentary "Kenbe La" ("Hold On") by Bel Son Productions, which explores music education in Haiti, will be shown.
Enjoy Peoria's evening skyline with a Moonlight Cruise on the Spirit of Peoria featuring live entertainment on Friday with boarding beginning at 7:30 pm and the cruise running from 8 - 10 pm. The 12th Annual Mark Linder Walk for the Mind will take place on the Peoria RiverPlex on Saturday beginning at 7:30 am. The Peoria Art Guild Fine Art Fair featuring works of over 150 national artists will take place on the Peoria Riverfront from 10 am - 5 pm on Saturday & Sunday. Admission is $5 daily or $7 for both days and kids aged 12 & under are free. Admission to the Children's Corner is $5.  As one of the oldest outdoor juried art fairs in the country, the Fine Art Fair gives everyone the rare opportunity to meet and talk with nationally-recognized artists, sample some of city's finest cuisine, and listen to some of Peoria's best musical performers. The Autumn Gems Quilt Show 2014 will take place at the Peoria Civic Center on Saturday from 9 am - 5 pm. The Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery will host Recovery Walks! 2014 at Proctor Hospital (located at 5409 N Knoxville Ave. in Peoria) on Saturday beginning at Noon to benefit the Ameel Rashid Scholarship Fund, which helps patients in need pay for treatment at the Institute. The Peoria Historical Society and Institute for Principled Leadership at Bradley University will recognize the Honorable Ray LaHood with the 2014 deTonti Award at a special tribute dinner on Saturday at the Peoria Civic Center Ballroom beginning at 6 pm. The award honors a Tri-County individual or organization demonstrating outstanding community leadership. Peoria Jaycees Night Golf will take place on Saturday at Fondulac Golf Course (located at 123 Par 3 Ln. in East Peoria) beginning at 7 pm. Benefits from the fair will help fund the Friends of Rocky Glen's effort to build a parking lot and trail system so Peoria's newest park can be opened to the public.
