Is There Life After 50? opens tonight (Thursday) and runs through September 14 with additional performances on Friday, Saturday & Sunday this week at the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre in Goodfield. On Thursday, Friday & Saturday, doors open at 6 pm, buffet is at 6:30 pm, and the show is at 8 pm. On Sunday, doors & the buffet open at noon and the show is at 1:30 pm. Arts in the Park will feature The West MacQueen Street Band tonight (Thursday) at the new Idlewood Arts Pavilion (located at the corners of Idlewood & Parkside in Morton) beginning at 7 pm. Peoria Historical Society's Grandview Drive & Springdale Cemetery Trolley Tour winds along Grandview Drive takes place every Friday in August beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Harp & Thistle (located at 4605 N Prospect Road in Peoria Heights).
The Naughty to Nice Trolley Tour takes place every Saturday in August beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub (located at 619 SW Water Street in downtown Peoria) and traces Peoria history from 1920's to the present and includes stories of the city's gangster era, including driving by the site of Peoria's most notorious crime scene.  The "Roll Out the Barrel Tour" takes you through the earliest sections of downtown Peoria and into the Warehouse District where you'll discover facts about distilling in Peoria every Saturday in August beginning at 1 pm also leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub.  Cost for each tour is $15 and seniors 65 and older ride the trolley free with proof of age and a regular ticket purchase. A Sightseeing Cruise will take place on the Spirit of Peoria on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with with boarding beginning at 1:30 pm and the cruise running from 2 - 3:30 pm. There will also be an early cruise on Saturday from 11 am - 12:30 pm.  Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for senior citizens, $10 for kids 4-12 and free for infants and are available at the dock or online at www.spiritofpeoria.com
The 9th Annual Tower Park Music Festival will take place at Prospect and Glen in Peoria Heights from 3 - 11 pm on Friday & Saturday featuring a variety of live music plus food, a beer tent and family fun around Tower Park. Bands include Heavy Shake, Roundstone Buskers, Sol, Paige DeChausse and the Reverent Few on Friday and the Robin Crowe Band, The Midnight Special, Celetricity with Barry Cloyd and Drivetrain Feat with Nick Boettcher on Saturday. The CIAO First Fridays Artists' Tour will take place on Friday from 5 - 9 pm at 10 different locations in downtown Peoria including The Mill, Murray Center for the Arts, the Contemporary Art Center, and the Peoria Art Guild where visitors can view artist demonstrations as well as purchase pieces.
