The annual Dunlap Days festival will be held at North Park (JFL Field located at 100 N. Hickory Street in Dunlap) beginning at 6 pm tonight (Thursday), 6 pm on Friday & 8 am on Saturday. There will be live entertainment by Jamm Sammich & Bubblegum Jack, a bags tournament, a carnival, a petting zoo, a beer garden & food, a pancake & sausage breakfast (on Saturday morning), crafts & vendors, a decorated bike safety rodeo, bike contest & parade, face painting and more. Is There Life After 50? continues tonight (Thursday) and runs through September 14 with performances on Friday, Saturday & Sunday this week at the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre in Goodfield. Peoria Historical Society's Grandview Drive & Springdale Cemetery Trolley Tour winds along Grandview Drive takes place every Friday in August beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Harp & Thistle (located at 4605 N Prospect Road in Peoria Heights).
The Naughty to Nice Trolley Tour takes place every Saturday in August beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub (located at 619 SW Water Street in downtown Peoria) and traces Peoria history from 1920's to the present and includes stories of the city's gangster era, including driving by the site of Peoria's most notorious crime scene.  The "Roll Out the Barrel Tour" takes you through the earliest sections of downtown Peoria and into the Warehouse District where you'll discover facts about distilling in Peoria every Saturday in August beginning at 1 pm also leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub.  Cost for each tour is $15 and seniors 65 and older ride the trolley free with proof of age and a regular ticket purchase. A Sightseeing Cruise will take place on the Spirit of Peoria on Friday with with boarding beginning at 1:30 pm and the cruise running from 2 - 3:30 pm.  Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for senior citizens, $10 for kids 4-12 and free for infants and are available at the dock or online at www.spiritofpeoria.com

The Peoria Park District and the St. Patrick Society of Peoria will host the 18th annual Irish Festival, Erin Feis on the RiverFront from 4 pm - 11:30 pm on Friday, from 11:30 am - 11:30 pm on Saturday & from 9:30 am - 6 pm on Sunday. Showcasing Irish heritage through song, dance, food, drink and cultural exhibits, there will be Irish bands and musicians on multiple stages, a vendor marketplace and more. Admission is $7 before 5 pm or $10 after 5 pm, children under 12 are free, but must be accompanied by an adult. Peoria County Recycling will host a Recycling Extravaganza Event at Landmark Recreation Center (located at 3225 Dries Lane in Peoria) on Saturday from 9 am - 1 pm. The Washington Arts Festival will take place in Washington Park (located adjacent to Lincoln Grade School) on Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm on Saturday & Sunday. Featuring over 50 artists displaying their handcrafted art, there will also be a parade, visits by the Clydesdales, children's activities on Saturday from 10 am - 2 pm, bounce houses, face painting, free ice cream and children's art activities. The 4th Annual Native Americans Speak event will take place on Saturday at Shore Acres Park (located at 100 Park Blvd. in Chillicothe) from 10 am - 4 pm. The 26th Annual Duck Race will take place on Saturday on the Peoria Riverfront next to the Spirit of Peoria beginning at Noon. A fundraiser for the organization, cost to adopt a duck is $5. Winning ducks are selected at random when they are dumped into the Illinois river and prizes include a $5,000 cash grand prize plus gift cards to popular retail stores and restaurants. The Peoria Riverfront Museum (located at 222 SW Washington St. in Peoria) will host Wine & Art Night on Saturday beginning at 7 pm. Create a Rustic Woven Wall Hanging using yarn and natural materials to create a very unique piece. Participants are encouraged to bring in natural fibers, grasses, shells, seed pods, and/or items from their garden, yard, vacation or a trip to incorporate.
