Since 1982, the Peoria Area Civic Chorale has had the privilege of entertaining thousands of central Illinoisans with the highest standards in choral music performance. From Renaissance to contemporary, art music to folk and pop, and Broadway to jazz; to the delight of its audiences, the repertoire of the Peoria Area Civic Chorale continues to encompass a wide variety of styles. This year, our twenty-fifth year anniversary, will be no different. Dr. Joseph D. Henry, Professor of Music at Eureka College, has served as Artistic Director and Conductor of the Peoria Area Civic Chorale since June, 1994. On an annual basis, the Civic Chorale currently presents two weekend concert serious at the Peoria Area Civic Center Theater; one in December the other in May. The Civic Chorale's evolution has included the growth of several very important youth programs designed to serve talented young singers in the Peoria area. These programs include the Civic Chorale Youth Chorus, a Young Artist Competition, an annual Summer Choral Camp and three different festival choir experiences for children in grades 5-12. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors that is dedicated to the Civic Chorale’s mission.
