Mini-Conferences are coming to Peoria offered by Web Tech Services. These 90 MINUTE mini-conferences only $25 and provide everything a business needs to get started using social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to attract new clients and communicate with current clients. Developed by Web Tech Services owner Tammy Finch, the mini-conferences provide “just enough information but not too much,” for businesses new to social networking.

Businesses that have never used -- or are just getting started using -- free, online social networking sites will benefit by attending these low-cost, mini-conferences put on by Tammy Finch, owner of East-Peoria based web design, hosting and computer repair company Web Tech Services. Internet authority Finch (who has presented locally and nationally) started offering the MiniTech Conferences in 2009 when she saw that many of her current clients were missing out on the social networking trend because of lack of knowledge about how to get started.
Social media is growing rapidly and with that growth, its importance to businesses is growing too. Once widely considered a youthful fad, social media is now being used for legitimate business purposes. In the latest 2010 statistics, Facebook, with over 400mm users, claims 1.5 business pages and reports that 20 million people become ‘fans’ of pages each day. LinkedIn has 60mm users -- which represents a growth of 5 mm (9%) since December 2009. Social media is not just for kids: YouTube recently reports that 57% of its videos are posted by users over 20 to 35 years old, 20% by users over 35.
“If your business isn’t using social networking you are missing out on opportunities to use a free tool to strengthen your relationship with current clients, to benefit from new client referrals by your client base and to build rapport with prospects,” stated Tammy Finch, owner of Web Tech Services and MiniTech Conferences. “At our new mini-tech conferences we make it quick, easy and inexpensive to learn everything you need to get started with social networking.”
Finch, who owns Web Tech Services, an East Peoria-based business, introduced the “MiniTech Conferences” when she started getting requests from her website clients to tutor them in social media. Finch explained, “I started MiniTech Conferences on social media because I realized that many of my clients didn’t know enough about the Internet to take the first step to begin using this free tool. Some were really scared. And I didn’t have any place to refer them. They needed MiniTech Conferences to provide just enough information but not too much to overwhelm them, and that is what we do.” Any interested group or business that would like to have its own workshop should contact Finch by calling (309) 699-WEBS (9327).
