A Non Competitive 5K for dogs, dog owners and dog lovers.
It may be the gentle kiss that wakes an owner up in the morning. It could very likely be the exuberant greeting that greets them when they return home. It is definitely the gentle and loving look they give when their owner is sick or having a bad day. Even more definite is the ways they can make their owner laugh by just being themselves. But of all things, it is the unconditional love they give. The bond between man and dog is one bond in the world that continues to thrive. If you are a dog owner or a dog lover, you certainly understand.
This was the bond that created Cause Walk. Stacie Cregger, Cause Walk Coordinator, wanted to combine her love of dogs with her love of helping others. It was her belief that if dogs could help their best friends make the world a better place they would do everything they could in this mission. Now is the chance for dog and owner to make that difference. Cause Walk is non competitive 5k walk for dogs, dog owners and dog lovers. Each year we will select a different cause to support.
On Saturday, September 10th, 2011 the first ever annual Cause Walk will be held. This year’s cause is the National Breast Cancer Foundation. This cause was chosen in support of a friend and dog lover, Janice Dieckow, which is also a breast cancer survivor on a mission to raise money for cancer research through her Pride in Pink year. In support of this cause, this year’s event is Cause Walk: Puppies in Pink and will be held at the Peoria Park District Vicary Bottoms Dog Park off of Kickapoo Creek Road. Registration will begin at 1:00 pm and the walk will begin at 2:00 pm. Pre-entry forms can be obtained at our website at https://sites.google.com/site/causewalk/. Pre-entry is not required to attend the event.
